Alex' Journey 

I grew up going to church, and from a young age I was taught and believed that God loved me and Jesus died for me, and I decided to put this faith at the centre of my life. In my teenage years, I was part of a vibrant and active Christian Union and my social life revolved around Christian friends. At 16, our family moved from Solihull to Oxfordshire, and it was then, separated from the support of church and friends that God held me close and I really learned to depend upon him. 
 
In 2001, my husband Paul and I moved to Garstang and started worshipping at GFM. I then spent 24 very happy years volunteering in church and in the community while raising our four children. It was somewhat of a surprise to find that the next part of God’s plan for me was to join the staff team in 2025 as Pastoral and Ministries Assistant. This is a new role in our church which involves organising and participating in pastoral care, and supporting the daytime ministries aimed mainly at adults
