Katie's journey

My name is Katie Devany, I am married to Dave and have 2 grown up children and 1 grandchild, Joanna (married to Matt and mum to Sadie)and Nathan.

I became church administrator in March 2020 just as we went into lockdown and Phase 2 of the building project happened, so it's been an eventful few years, but I love using my admin skills in the church.

I have attended GFM almost all my life, Sunday School, Children’s work, youth, been baptised, married all at GFM! I was brought up with a Christian background but only started regularly attending church when I was about 8/9 years old. When I was a young teen I had the opportunity to attend a summer camp led by Revd Victor Trinder (first Superintendent of the FMC in the UK) and there saw young people who were excited to know Jesus and I became serious about my commitment to God.

I have trusted in God always since then and although life hasn’t always run smoothly, I have been so blessed by the solid teaching I have received here at Garstang – it’s a church and church family I love.
