"Senior Moments" aren't a bad thing here at Garstang Free Methodist Church. We value our older members and are keen to provide a supportive, friendly and enjoyable experience for all. That is why we have various activities going on throughout the year, as well as the normal church services.
An opportunity to pray for the older members of our church.
A film shown on large screen, followed by a light lunch and opportunity to discuss what you've seen.
An opportunity to get to know people better and hear about their lives, beginning with "Meet the Pastors' wives".
An opportunity to learn more about the Bible in new and interesting ways.
Friday Lunch for the Older and Wiser is a two course lunch provided by outside caterers. It is a great opportunity not only to enjoy good food that someone else has cooked but to share a meal with others rather than eat alone.
Our craft days are very popular, with a range of different crafts on offer. Try your hand at card making, painting, flower arranging etc. These days can be great fun and relaxing for everyone, whether they feel creative or not.
We hold services at three residential homes in the area.
Bowgreave Rise: first Sunday of each month at 10.15am.
Westwards House, Croston Rd, Garstang: second Sunday of each month at 2.15pm.
Stanley Lodge, Forton: on special occasions.
At times we may organise a day trip to a place of interest.
We try to address problems and questions relevant to older people.
